Mirza Fakhrul demands formation of new election commission

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has demanded to form a new Election Commission and organize the national elections. He said, 'BNP has made 10-point demands for the fall of the government. What's in it? The government should resign, parliament should be dissolved. A caretaker government should be formed and power should be given to him. A new election commission should be formed and elections should be held, where the people can vote to form a new government and a new parliament.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the biennial conference of BNP in Sylhet on Friday morning. The biennial conference of the metropolitan BNP began at 10:30 am at the registry ground in Sylhet city. The first session ended at 12:30 PM. The second session, which was supposed to start at two o'clock, did not start until half past two. In the second session, the councilors will vote and elect the president, general secretary and organizational secretary of the metropolitan BNP.

Addressing the ruling party, Mirza Fakhrul said that Awami League wants to hold elections under the constitution. What is in the constitution? There will be elections under the party Awami League. But the people of this country believe the Awami League? Do they believe that under the leadership of Awami League, under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, a fair and free election can be held one day? Because the people of this country have seen two elections.

Stating that the Awami League government has destroyed the country's economy, BNP Secretary General said, 'The economy has been destroyed in such a way that it is difficult to pull it back. Only for their own interests, for the sake of corruption, for the sake of stealing, today the government has destroyed the economy of Bangladesh. The government always says that they have made a lot of progress. Who is this development for? This development is for few people. In Dhaka they are doing subway, metro rail. How much money did you spend? It has spent three to four times what it should have cost. The Padma Bridge takes great pride. That Padma Bridge had a budget of 10 thousand crore rupees. Its projects which were done in our time for 10 thousand crore rupees, today it has become 30 thousand crore rupees.

Criticizing the current law and order situation in the country, the Secretary General of BNP said, "They slapped and took 11 crore rupees in public during the day. Later they found it again. Out of that 2 crore rupees is not available. It has become so bad, even our mothers and sisters have no security measures. They do not feel safe in this country.

Criticizing the purchase of electricity from India's Adani group, Mirza Fakhrul said, "They have chosen the power sector to earn money, to steal." You have heard the name of Adani, a huge company in India. We have made an agreement with them, we will lose about one and a half lakh crore taka in that agreement. Here, we have to buy coal at twice the price of coal available from other countries. As a result of this agreement, the price of electricity in Bangladesh will stand at 16 taka, which is now 8 taka. It also increased three times in two months. In every case they are deducting money from people's pockets. Experts say, “Electricity prices would not have gone up so much, if theft could have been stopped”—this is a fact.

Mirza Fakhrul demanded punishment for those involved in the explosions at two places in Chittagong, Sitakunda and Dhaka. 21 people have died so far. What is the reason? Experts say it is from gas. What gas? 21 people were killed when gas accumulated in the abandoned Titus gas line. A few days before that, 3 people died in an explosion in a building like this in a science laboratory. Before that, 8 people died in the oxygen factory (factory) in Chittagong. These lives have no value? Those for whom people are dying must be judged. Or it won't close. '

BNP Vice Chairman A ZM Zahid Hossain, Advisor to Chairperson Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, Enamul Haque and Tansina Rushdi Luna, Sylhet Divisional Organizing Secretary of BNP Sakhawat Hasan Jiban, Joint Organizing Secretary Kalim Uddin Ahmad also spoke in the first session of the conference under the chairmanship of Metropolitan BNP convener Abdul Qayyum Jalali Panki. Milon, Sylhet District BNP President Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury and others. Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury gave a welcome speech at the beginning.
